National Science Museum Signs MOU with WU, to Promote and Develop Science, Technology, Innovation, and Environment

Walailak University signed a memorandum of understanding (MOU) with the National Science Museum (NSM) to develop learning resources for the Debaratana Rajasuda Natural History Museum to be a living-learning resource and is a tourist attraction that is outstanding in education and important nature of the South of Thailand.


On January 24, 2022, at NSM Science Square, The Street Ratchada, Prof. Dr. Tawadchai Suppadit, Vice President of Walailak University signed a memorandum of understanding (MOU) and Mr. Suwarong Wongsiri, Deputy Director of the National Science Museum Organization singed MOU which has Asst. Prof.Dr. Rungrawee Chitphakdi, Director of the Botanical Park Walailak University, and Dr. Kannikar Chen, Deputy Director of the National Science Museum Organization witness the signing ceremony.
The objective is to jointly promote and develop knowledge and understanding of science, technology, innovation, and environment for youth and people to use their resources and abilities to carry out the main missions of both organizations to the maximum benefit, including developing personnel in education, research, knowledge transfer as well as promoting public relations and organizing activities on science, technology, innovation and the environment for children and youth.


Prof. Dr. Tawadchai Suppadit said children and youth in the south of Thailand region do not have the opportunity to see science exhibitions by NSM due to travel restrictions. Therefore, have the idea that if received cooperation from NSM in providing opportunities for young people in the south of Thailand region to learn good things that NSM has, which will greatly benefit the youth in the south.
Mr. Suwarong Wongsiri said NSM has a mission to promote Thai society to see the importance of science around us, which plays an important role in the development of the country, encouraging people and young people to have a positive attitude towards science through the media used to exhibit, whether it is an exhibition and various activities for the signing of understanding between the National Science Museum with Walailak University.


In addition, the National Science Museum Organization (NSM) will be the agency that supports the development of the Thep Ratana Rajasuda Natural History Museum, Walailak University to grow and to support rotating exhibitions to be used as a learning center for youth, students, and students in the South of Thailand, to be a living-learning resource as well as being an important tourist destination in the South of Thailand.
